Not at all. It started its journey as a Blind theatre group, which it still remains, but at the same time it's already opened its doors to people with different sorts of impairment other than visual. Even persons with psychological disabilities are welcome, but for them to join a formal letter from the physician concerned is necessary. Also, all the new members may be asked to produce personal identification documents like PAN/AADHAR card if necessary.

Well, it mostly does. But there are productions with actors with different types of disabilities. Also, persons without any type of physical/psychic disability have appeared in various productions.

Of course. It's a regular grantee both in the Govt. of India, Ministry of Culture scheme and also the Govt. of West Bengal, Paschimbanga Natya Akademi scheme.

We do have online facilities. Undeniably, on-site classes and workshops are more effective in this regard, but despite the limitations, we do arrange online 'Drama Therapy' sessions.

Any donation will thankfully be accepted and acknowledged. Donations made towards Shyambazar Anyadesh are exempted from Income Tax under section 80G (5)(vi) of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Donations can be sent via cheque, bank transfer, or e-M.O. For more details, please contact us.

It surely does. It's recently completed a project funded with a CSR grant from Bharat Serums and Vaccines Limited. The project is titled Savitri: Empowering Adolescent Blind Women Through Blind Theatre Pedagogy.
